Here’s my P100 project
Just fanced a retro rocket, I’m stupid !! Bought this of eBay, Well it just managed to pull it’s sorry self the 40 miles home, blowup about 20 miles into the journey, but didn’t want a smelly old diesel any way and you can see the donor “Scorpio ultima estate 24v in the bottom right of this It’s not as streight as it look but not a bad base truck for a project,
Front and rear axles, struts, engine & gearbox, seat, dash, wheels,
will all be replaced by the Scorpio Cosworth 24v Cos i’m tight,
A moden well equipted truck
Cruse control,
Sports mode, Snow mode, Economy mode,
Auto Dip Mirrors,
Power Steering,
Limited Slip Diff,
157 miles per hour,
More Pics of the base truck as purchased on eBay these are the EBay Pictures posted by the vender.
I started stripping the Scorpio but it looked like this one, frog eyed BOB,

Cosworth 2.9 v6 24v BOB Engine,
I recon a Scorpio Estate would make a nice pickup here’s a quick Photoshop image,

Breaking the Scorpio Cosworth

Bye Bye old sport, All this is all going to fit under the P100
Hello beasty
Help please someone let me out
Poor Old Cossie, This is what happens when your alternator stops working
OOoo Sexy An old scorpio hearse would make a nice Double cab

O’dear I think I just found the next project
Getting the P100 stripped out read for some raw power

Bye Bye Slow Smelly old diesel
Nice blank canvas ! Time to start squeezing that meaty 24v beast in there

Got some twin headlight surrounds today Sneek Peek, But there not a very good fit they need a lot of tweaking
Scorpio Cosworth cross member trimmed and test fitted without engine,

Going to use the old antiroll bar fixing points to secure the back edge of the cross member
First test fitting of Engine & Box Wow that’s snug
Time to change that front Suspension & Brakes
Cut out the P100 Strut tops and test fitted the scorpio strut tops
Both Strut top in place now time to set them up and weld them in
And now I find out there’s a shortage of acetylene, Thankfully a friend managed to source some,
I like gas welding, also repaired the front cross member ! think I mite move that towing eye,
Test fitting No2 With Scorpio Steering & Suspension

Strut tops welded in, Engine & Box, Scorpio cross member, Struts & Hubs, Disks & Brakes,
ABS, Antiroll bar, Power steering,
This also increased the track width and some 18″ Fox alloys that need a little work but looking good
Got an off side front wing the other day also got a pair of Capri MK3 twin headlights for those crappy fitting headlight surrounds also got a copy Cosworth front bumper in fibre glass,
Time to start on the rear end

Turned the truck round now,
The tub and tank are OFF, The old axle and springs are gone, cut the front spring hangers off,
The new independent rear from the Scorpio is supported on wooden chocks,
the truck is close to Finnish ride height, lots of cutting and welding ahead
Need to decide the colour next, what colour to go for ? RED ? PURPUL ?
Got the rear IRS mounted now sitting on it’s spring, Time for a quick wash, Rolling it out was interesting with no brakes at all !! need to load it up and set the ride height,

A quick look with tub back on
Had a play with Photoshop
_f.jpg)
Time to start fitting the steering Colum, Pedal Box and dash from the Scorpio,

Dash fitted across screen, and centre console fully fitted, just the sides to tweak and trim,
Anyone for a P100 hog-roast !

Made some spit roast stands from some box iron that was laying around the workshop,
The Engine box, Front & Rear Suspension all removed again,
Now its time to weld all the Mounts and brackets in place,
New wings test fitted and lots of welding done
Started shot blasting and painting, starting to look cool now at last

Got some finish paint on the truck now starting to feel like all the hard work is coming to an end

Cab in undercoat now and cab floor shot blasted ready for painting found a bit more welding too
Cab floor and rear chassis blasted and painted now, Time to start putting suspension back on so the rear tub can be got out worked on, There’s about 4 days welding required as most of the stiffening brasses are rotten,
Unfortunately things have change and the Truck has to go on back burner, so it’s getting a Quick Rebuild so it can be moved into storage for a little while.

Rear suspension refitted new wheel bearing in off side and hand brake working again shame I don’t have enough time to strip blast and paint it all first
Got a bit more built up today and sorted some transport for Sunday
Tub on now and loaded up ready for storage
loaded up a short trip down the road to storage Feeling a bit sad

loaded up again for the short trip back down the road from Storage Feeling happy

I can start working on the pickup again,
ordered some adjustable stands from eBay Tuesday about 14:30 and they were delivered at 10:30 Wednesday wow that good service so just had to get the truck up on them ready to start working on it again,
