1968 Cortina one like this was my first car got it with a busted engine 4 months tax and 10 months MOT for £20, Picked up a Anglia 997cc engine for £10 had it fitted and running 3 hours later,
1968 Bedford HA 12.56cc 3 birth camper had this for about 2 years,
My first 1600E was a bronze one but I like the roman bronze used on the MK4 Cortina’s and the gold MK2 so I did it two tone bronze on top & gold at the bottom, styled like the MK2 bronze like the MK4 in picture and bottom as gold 1971 1600E below,
My second 1600E a 1971 looked like this white one but with chrome wheels
This 1971 Cortina 1600E was My 3rd Cortina 1600E They all had a Modified Lotus 1658cc Twin cam 8 valve I use to transplant it before selling each car,
I had this 1963 Consul Capri 1500GT for about 6 years, What a stunning car it was trimmed by “Hoopers” white leather seats with red piping, Red carpets with white leather piping, Full size Webasto sun roof, used it for 4 years and stored it for a couple, Modified engine in this kept it looking like original ish put a 711m block bored out to 1700 under the ported Pe cross flow 1500 GT head with twin 40 Webers, and a bullet box,
After I did a full respray on this for an employee he wanted my 1.6-GT Cortina so we did some trad LOL,
I had this 1974 4.2 XJ6 for a couple of years sold it bought it back had it another 2 years and sold it to a friend,
Had this 1976 Daimler for a year, It was maroon when it got it I sprayed it White especially my friends wedding, sold it to the same friend some weeks after wedding ! then took it in part ex when he bought the red jag above
Some of the other jags I owned include 1951 MK7, 1963 MK10, 1968 420G, 1954 XK240 FHC, 1969 XJ12 coupe,
This 1983 Granada 2.8 GL was taken in part ex against my one of my 1600Es, Only kept it a month or so,
Had another MK2 Granada 2.3 GLS ex-Police special unmarked in black, Looked like the one bellow, It loved to eat 2.8i capri’s and XR3i’s some kind person decided that they liked the wheels and stole them it was never the same after that eventually got some more 16″ alloys to replace the stolen one’s but never felt wright sold it,
My last Bike was a KH250 with KH400 bores & pistons Think it came out at 360cc ish bloody fast,
Got a 2.8 Granada just like this one for a holiday touring France and it did the job nicely, then when we got back some little shite stole it ! we got paid more from insurance than I was selling it for,
I had a 1979 5.3 v12 XJS just like this one but I fitted the TWR body kit all chrome trim blacked out and painted it Signal red with chrome E Type wheels,
Had some motorcycles along the way,
I spent the next 30 years driving company cars & vans, and lost my interest in cars !! But I’m back now !!!!!!
