Got an alloy beavertail body and beacon from a long wheel base Transit here it is still on the transit Ex-plant hire truck

Time to get some ideas for how long to have the beavertail ? Here’s the body 16 foot just sat on as is LOL
And here’s some images that I’ve photo shopped
Stripped the beavertail down to Adjust mountings points to suit LDV chassis and do some repairs to tidy it up the tail rear slope angle needs lifting a bit as cars will bottom out on the ridge,
Did some cleaning today ! Going for some materials tomorrow gona build a blasting cabinet takes too long with an angle grinder,

Last cutting of the chassis just the ends to make up before final fitting,
Got the beaver tail mocked up so I can adjust the angle of the tail so vehicles don’t bottom out causing damage to cars or my truck, It’s looking like the loading height will be about 700mm,
Finished the chassis ends off and welded some 6mm plate on to fix beaver tail on to,
The longitudinal rails are cut to size and front height set,
Did a little more on the bed, Got all the cross rails cut in and mounted the “A” frames for the tail another day cutting and adjusting to go then time to weld it all up,
More tweaking of the “A” frames and test fitting of rear mudguards
All the longitudinal supports have bean fabricated and welded in place now, The cross beams and winch mounts are tacked in place, mudguards are mounted,

The light beam starting to take shape
Last part remade and welded in place, the light mounting bar and ramp supports,
Couldn’t resist popping lights in for a quick picture or 2 lol
All cross beams welded in fully, one extra smaller beam fitted on tail and end supports on last beam with centre cut out so there’s an opening for ramps,
Had to put it out side today so chucked a sheet on, This will be the finished height looks OK,
Got all off side support ribs welded in place and some of the near side, Hoping to finish the rest tomorrow,
Had to pull it out again today so took a picture
Bit more painting done,
Ready for Decking’s to be fitted
Loading height is quite low for a small truck,
Started putting top decking on now

All top decking completed on off side
Side marker lights mounted and wired on off side deck top cleaned,
Some side impact added
Little more done main build on near side finished,
Just had to see it with a load on,
Straps arrived today,
