Stripped the old 3 phase motor off today and found this inside it LOL

Gregory Sutcliffe Quick Release Vice
Found this sorry looking vice on eBay !, To say it’s had a hard life is well understated some moron has drill it close to death then tried to repair it with a stick welder and angle grinder, Poor littel thing,
The Repair
Time for a littel TLC,
Would like to know a bit more about this littel vice,
All the gray looking pictures are streight from sand blasting showing all the abuse,
You can see here the jaw has been welded to the vice, (it’s a spring loded jaw with taper seats)
The bottom runners repaired up and leveled on surface grinder the side need tyding up yet,
Both main jaws backs ground down a bit some more welding before final grind,
Looking a lot better now,
